Thank you for your interest in volunteering
for the TREK study.

The basic eligibility criteria is listed below.

Volunteers must:

• Be between 18-64 years of age
• In general good health
• Traveling to Mexico or Guatemala for at least 7 days between October 2009 and September 2010
• Willing to maintain a daily study diary for 17 days

Volunteers must NOT:

• Have received a travelers' diarrhoea or cholera vaccine
• Be a woman who is pregnant, nursing, or planning a pregnancy during the study
• Have allergies to skin adhesive bandages such as bandaids or steristrips
• Have hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV/AIDS
• Have had diarrhoea within the past year while travelling in a developing country
• Be participating or expect to participate in another research study between October 2009 - September 2010.
